A weekend retreat for all of us who care deeply.

Care for the Caregivers

Caregivers play a vital role in our communities, whether in intimate family circles, larger social networks, or the wide array of helping professions in healthcare, palliative care, education, humanitarian aid, social justice, and more. Often it is caregivers who support the front lines of our society: helping those who face challenges on a daily basis. However, this support can come at a high personal cost, leading to frustration, exhaustion, and a fast track to burnout.

Science has shown that care-giving is one of the most profound stresses a person can experience. Fortunately the body does have a natural way to combat stress. There are a variety of ways to tap into the bodies natural relaxation response. I'd like to share some of the techniques that have sustained me over the course a nursing career that has spanned three and a half decades!

During our time together, we will learn about the effects of stress on our body, mind and spirit and reflect upon the ways our personal stories and beliefs shape and  are shaped by our response to stress. You will have the opportunity to explore mindfulness meditation, learn yoga breathing and movement exercises and receive resources to help you continue the practices on you own if you wish. We will enjoy an ayurvedic meal and enjoy time together in nature. You will come away feeling refreshed and renewed. And you will receive resources to help you incorporate the days lessons into your daily life.

No previous yoga or meditation experience needed!
