Principles of Alignment

August, 2020, 2:00 PM - 2:40 PM @ Online program via Zoom.

In this 40-minute zoom class, Cindy von Miller, Professional Nurse and Yoga Therapist will teach principles of alignment that can be applied to all yoga poses and to everyday activities.

Be prepared to stand and move. If you have a yoga block and strap have them handy.

Wednesday Morning Meditation Group via Zoom

Ongoing 9:30 to 10:00 

We begin focusing on the breath as we encourage the mind to rest in the heart.

A selection of sacred poetry is recited. Followed by a period of silence.

Participants are invited to share their reflections. 

Gentle Flow Asana Practice via Zoom

Tuesday evenings from 5:15 - 6:15

Beginning August 4th 

Open to students with a basic knowledge of yoga asana and alignment.

The Yoga Sutras via Zoom

Wednesdays from 12:00 - 1:00

One goal of practicing yoga is to reach the state in which our decisions and actions are based on perceiving our environment clearly and accurately, illumined by the inner light of awareness, as opposed to functioning with clouded perception induced by our ego to think we are nothing but the chatter and habitual patterns active in our heart -mind.

Weekly Hatha Yoga Classes

will resume as soon as Cindy is able to teach without exposing her students to any potential risk

All classes begin with yoga techniques to draw attention inward and focus the mind on the breath and the body. Time is then spent systematically warming up muscles and joints. Yoga asanas (postures) are chosen to meet the needs of the students with a focus on proper alignment for the individual's normal range of motion. Once proper alignment is demonstrated, the class is led through a series of poses that flow one from another. All classes end with deep therapeutic relaxation or yoga nidra.

This class began several years ago with a group of people dedicated to incorporating yoga into their lives;  and continues to grow as we welcome new members. The class begins with a centering meditation ~ the focus may be breathing, chanting, or poetry. We utilize an alignment based approach to new poses and then , incorporate what we have learned into a flow. 

The focus is on balancing strength and flexibility, improving posture and alignment,

and deeply nourishing body mind and spirit.
